Welcome to the Common Core 2.0 online book study. Over the next eight weeks, you will be reading The Common Core Lesson Book K-5 by Gretchen Owocki and developing three lessons to use with your students. The anchor standards are divided into four categories:
1. Key Ideas and Details,
2. Craft and Structure,
3. Integration of Knowledge and Ideas,
4. Range of Reading and Text complexity.
Each of your lessons will be designed to incorporate one of the first three categories. You may use any texts that align with your district curriculum in reading, science or social studies. Have fun and happy reading!With the exception of the first and last weeks of the class, the class works in two-week cycles. There is a tab at the top of the blog for each one- or two-week chunk of the class. Your facilitator will send you reminder emails throughout the course with links to the appropriate page, but you are welcome to visit these pages ahead of time and work ahead if you'd like.
