Read the Overview xvi-xx. Look at pages xxiv-xxv. Listed in Table D are the characteristics of effective classrooms. Please read through them and as a self-assessment, rate yourself in each category.

Look at the ratings you gave yourself on Table D. Choose one area where you gave yourself a 2 or 3 and write a goal for strengthening that area in your classroom this year. Post your goal below. Include why you’ve selected this goal and how you see it impacting student learning in your classroom. Since this is our first week, please introduce yourself, including your district and grade level.
